How to Use Serving Size Adjustment
One of PasteAndTaste's most popular features is the ability to adjust serving sizes with a single click. Here's how it works:
The Basics
Every extracted recipe includes a serving size. When you change this number, all ingredient quantities automatically recalculate to match. Cooking for 2 instead of 4? Just change the servings and every measurement updates instantly.
How the Math Works
We use the original recipe's quantities as a baseline. When you adjust servings, we calculate a simple ratio and apply it to every ingredient. For example, if a recipe serves 4 and you change it to 6, every ingredient is multiplied by 1.5.
Tips for Best Results
- Cooking times may not scale linearly — a larger batch might need slightly more time
- Some ingredients (like salt and spices) may not need to scale exactly — use your taste
- Baking recipes are more sensitive to ratio changes than stovetop recipes
